What is Depth of Market (DOM)?

The Depth of Market (DOM) also known as the order book, provides the ability to see orderflow in real-time making it a superior tool. Levels are just levels, context and confirmation by orderflow is essential.

Tracking the interaction between Limit Orders (Passive Traders) and Market Orders (Active Traders) in real-time will increase the efficiency in your decision making process. Spotting volume coming in at inflection points helps you gauge entries, how long to stay in the trade and when to trigger your stops.

How to Install a Chartbook in Sierra Chart:

1. Download and Save: Save your Chartbook file (.CHT) in the following directory: C:\SierraChart\Data.
2. Open Sierra Chart Platform: Launch the Sierra Chart platform and navigate to the File tab.
3. Access Chartbook: From the File menu, select 'Open Chartbook' and locate your saved Chartbook.CHT file.
4. Update Chart Contracts: Ensure all charts are updated to the current contract.

Important Notes:

• Time Zone Adjustment: The Chartbook is based on New York time (-5 EST/-4 EDT).
• Adjust your Global Settings accordingly: Go to Global Settings >> Time Zone Settings >> Choose New York (-5 EST/-4 EDT).
